NYC Web Links

The most comprehensive guide to New York City's online culture is the Alliance for the Arts' NYC Arts Culture Guide and Calendar.

Here's a good list of other helpful resources for making the most of all the arts and culture the city has to offer.

City Guide AOL
OK - so this might sound like a cheesy website, but it's a great resource to find out where to eat or drink before or after a cultural excursion. It's better and more up to date than CitySearch.

Clio Exploring New York City

In Chelsea alone there are over 203 galleries and this is a great website to show you where they are, how to get there and what's the latest exhibit.

Everything Google touches turns to gold, and their maps are no exception. Easy to use for finding a location or directions. You can even use its integrated search engine and satellite map. It's a terrific service!

If you don't know about this site - you must! It is the most useful and comprehensive film and TV database. If you want to find out who Jennifer Aniston's dad is and how she got started in the biz or just need to know Johnny Depp's birthday, this is the only place to land.

NYC & Company
This is the official tourism site for NYC and it's pretty solid. The home page lists event highlights for the week and an up-to-date calendar of free and cool stuff in all 5 boroughs. It's also a good way to find hotels and activities for parents and relatives.

New York Metro
Run by New York Mag - New York Metro is a solid site with good info about what's going on in the Classical, Dance and Opera world. It's not comprehensive, but a complete site for the classical arts does not seem to exist (if you find one let us know). New York Metro is also good for restuarant, theatre, film, museum and other cultural event info. Also a great place to look for things to do while the 'rents are in town.
