The TIC distributes and sells tickets to campus productions and events on behalf of university organizations, as well as discounted tickets to cultural events throughout New York City. Click here to see a calendar of events or sign up for our weekly e-newsletter.

The Ticket and Information Center is located in the lobby of Alfred Lerner Hall at 115th and Broadway. Hours of Operation: Mondays 3 pm - 8 pm, Tuesdays - Fridays 1 pm - 8 pm and Saturdays: 3 pm - 10 pm. TIC is also located on the web at www.tic.columbia.edu.

COLUMBIA ALUMNI ARTS LEAGUE (CAAL)

www.alumniarts.columbia.edu

CAAL, now open to faculty and staff, provides its members discounts at over 60 premier New York City cultural institutions. Museums, galleries, publications and film, theater, music, comedy, opera and dance institutions provide Columbians with special benefits. Faculty and staff can save money and support the arts at Columbia by registering for the program with a tax-deductible contribution of $25 or more.

ARTSLINK

www.cuarts.com/artslink

The Arts Initiative is launching a new program to create easily accessible discounted group tickets to New York City cultural events and museum exhibitions so that instructors can use New York City as a classroom resource without having to deal with the hassle of ticketing. Your students will be able to purchase tickets for classes as easily as they buy books. Click HERE for more information about available shows and how to sign-up your class.

BROADWAY & OFFBROADWAY DISCOUNTS

Most shows offer discounted tickets (unless they are a big hit and just opened); you just need to know where to look. Here are some websites that offer the best deals. (CUArts especially recommends Givenik.com!)

Givenik.com: Great ongoing discounts for individual tickets and groups. Plus for every purchase you make, the show contributes 5% of the ticket price to the Arts Initiative that goes back into Ticket and Information Center's operating expenses.

TDF.org: TDF provides access to Broadway and Off Broadway theatre, dance and more at $20 to $36 a ticket- up to 70% off full price! Columbia students, faculty, and staff receive $5 off the membership fee when they join TDF. The annual membership fee is normally $30, but with the special Arts Initiative at Columbia University discount your first year's fee will be $25 (valid only for first time members). Visit www.tdf.org, click on the "Apply online now" icon and use promotional code CUNYC.

Broadwaybox.com: A listing of all public discount codes available for current shows. It's the insiders' website for discounts.

Theatremania.com: A solid listing of the hottest shows and discounts.

DISCOUNTED MOVIE VOUCHERS: $6.50 - $8.50 per voucher

www.cuarts.com/tickets/discountMovies.html

The Ticket and Information Center sells discounted movie vouchers to all the major movie theatre chains in New York City: AMC, Regal, Clearview and City Cinemas. These discounts are available to all faculty and staff for purchase at the TIC window and prices range from $6.50 to $8.50. Click here to see details.

THE METROPOLITAN MUSEUM OF ART AND THE CLOISTERS

The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Cloisters provide free admission to Columbia University faculty and staff by presenting your CUID at the admission desk.

MUSEUM OF THE CITY OF NEW YORK

The Museum of the City of New York is offering Columbia faculty and staff 2-for-1 admission with a coupon. Coupons are available for pick up in the flier rack next to the Ticket and Information Center window.

The Museum of the City of New York embraces the past, present, and future of New York City and celebrates the city’s cultural diversity through its rich collections, a lively schedule of exhibitions, and an array of programs for adults and children. The Museum is dedicated to fostering an understanding of New York’s evolution from its origins as a settlement of a few hundred Europeans, Africans, and Native Americans to its present status of one of the world’s largest and most important cities.

PASSPORT TO NEW YORK & COLLEGETIX

Passport to NY, the free museum program and Collegetix, the Broadway and Off-Broadway discount ticket program offered by Telecharge are only available to students – as indicated in each event description. As stated above there are many Broadway, Off-Broadway and cultural event tickets (Met Opera, Carnegie Hall, NYC Ballet) that are available to faculty and staff, but not through Collegetix. We have also made requests to individual organizations about including faculty and staff in the Passport to NY program, but at the moment, they can only include students. The Passport to New York program, however, is a great resource for students to take advantage of the exhibits and resources offered by 30+ museums. Click the link above to see the list.
